OGDEN PUBLICATIONS ACQUIRES NATURAL HOME & GARDEN MAGAZINE
TOPEKA, Kansas, (November 1, 2005) – Ogden Publications, publishers of Mother Earth News and nine other magazines, announced today that it has acquired Natural Home & Garden magazine, the nation’s premier publication for people interested in sustainable, healthy homes from Interweave Press.
“We’re extremely excited about the future of Natural Home & Garden,” said Bryan Welch, publisher and general manager for Ogden Publications. “It provides a great new connection with our audience of people who enjoy sustainable, conscientious lifestyles.”
Under the leadership of Linda Ligon, Natural Home magazine was established in May 1999 by Interweave Press and relaunched as Natural Home & Garden with the March/April 2005 issue. Robyn Griggs Lawrence, editor-in-chief since 2000, will continue her position.
In announcing the purchase, Welch said: “Robyn has shown readers that living ‘green’ doesn't mean giving up quality or style. Her presentation of beautiful, earth-friendly homes and gardens in lush and inviting surroundings gives readers inspiration to live more fulfilling and more conscientious lives. We are looking forward to working with Robyn, and expect great things as we develop the magazine together.”

Along with the magazine, Ogden has acquired the rights to naturalhomeandgarden.com and other related products. Polly Perkins, business development director at AdMedia Partners, brokered this transaction and represented Interweave in the acquisition.
Natural Home & Garden will be an excellent addition to Ogden’s consumer titles, particularly Mother Earth News, the largest magazine in the sustainable-lifestyle category with more than 1.4 million readers.
