It takes about two-thirds of a pound of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides to make a single pair of jeans, according to the Sustainable Cotton Project. Before you swear off denim, button up this: Eco-minded fashion designers are sewing sustainable jeans and jackets ranging from classic to ultra-hip.

Del Forte Denim
