    As builder of highly energie efficient Windows from white Cedar with framethickness of 68mm(2"3/4), i wonder what materials have been used to build the windowframes!The low E windows you referring are obviosly onle the glasspanes!
    A further aspect is the size of the spacer between the Glasspanes wich will increase the insulation as more airspace is there!To judge the real carbon footprint far more info is required as you are ready to give in your article!
    On the other hand it is very appreciated that people are ready to adress our energieproblem in building green homes!
